How do I participate online through Zoom?

The virtual participation of the Symposium will be run through Zoom. At least one week in advance, we encourage all online participants to create a free account on Zoom and become familiar with the features before the start of the Symposium.

How to sign up and activate your Zoom account

Through Zoom, the online Symposium will be available (in real time) to be translated via subtitles into 28 different languages.

How will the translated subtitles work during the Zoom sessions?

Through Zoom’s cutting-edge technology, although the Symposium will take place in English, users will have the option to have it subtitled into one of 28 different languages. The translated captions will automatically appear in real-time as written subtitles on the screen. For example, if the speaker is speaking English in a meeting, captions can be made available in Spanish, Chinese, Ukrainian, and more.

Available caption languages are determined by the host in web settings before the live session, but participants can freely enable captions and select the language they want to use for translation without the need of the host.

Supported languages for translation currently include:

DISCLAIMER: It will be the responsibility of each online participant to set up and run this feature. Stone Pine Consulenza and its partners will not provide any technical support for this feature. This is service we are providing free of charge to all participants, but as with any AI technology, there may be a few errors, especially in the beta-testing phase of some languages.

We suggest that you carefully read in advance how to enable this feature.

Does my registration fee include Value-Added Tax (VAT)?

Registration fees on the website DO NOT include the standard 22% Value Added Tax or VAT, but may be added during registration checkout.

For private individuals (those not associated with a company or organization) VAT will be added at checkout.

Business or corporate registrations will not be charged VAT, however, you MUST provide the full business name, address, email, and Tax ID number/TIN/UID/PIVA in the billing form (use the Order notes for Tax ID) or we cannot proceed with a VAT-exempt registration. All business information must be received within 7 days of registration or face registration cancellation. 

Students sponsored through their university will not be charged VAT as long as the same billing information, (the full business name, address, email, and Tax ID number/TIN/UID/PIVA in the billing form (use the Order notes for Tax ID) can be verified within within 7 days of registration or face registration cancellation.

Will the Symposium be offered on-line?

YES! By popular demand, we have decided to provide the option to register for a “Virtual” component of the Symposium. The two-day event will be live streamed via Zoom and recorded. After the conclusion of the Symposium, ALL PARTICIPANTS (online and in-person) will be provided with a link to an online folder where you can find copies of the presentations as well as each of the recorded talks.

Will there be online recordings of speakers available during and after the Symposium?

YES! By popular demand, we have decided to provide the option to register for a “Virtual” component of the Symposium. The two-day event will be live streamed via Zoom and recorded. After the conclusion of the Symposium, ALL PARTICIPANTS (online and in-person) will be provided with a link to an online folder where you can find copies of the presentations as well as each of the recorded talks.

What are your registration and cancellation policies?

Stone Pine Consulenza is not responsible for problems beyond our control, such as travel- and weather-related problems, or “acts of God”, and no refunds will be given in those situations. Any other extenuating circumstances not covered here may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Registration cancellation requests must be made in writing and submitted via email to Stone Pine Consulenza.

* PARTIAL REFUNDS FOR REGULAR & STUDENT REGISTRATIONS: Partial refunds (minus 50% administration and processing fee) of regular and student registration fees will only be made if the cancellation request is received between February 20 and September 30, 2023. Stone Pine Consulenza will not offer any refunds, for any reason, after October 1, 2023.

* PARTIAL REFUNDS FOR ONE-DAY REGISTRATION: Refunds of one-day registration fees (minus 50% administration and processing fee) will only be made if the cancellation request is received between February 20 and September 30, 2023. Stone Pine Consulenza will not offer any refunds, for any reason, after October 1, 2023.

* NETWORKING SOCIAL: Refunds of Network Social registration fees (minus a 15€ administration and processing fee) will only be made if the cancellation request is received between February 20 & October 1, 2023. Stone Pine Consulenza will not offer any refunds, for any reason, after October 15, 2023.

Are there discounted rates for students?

We are eager to encourage the next generation of vermicomposting leaders and professionals. We are happy to extend a student discount, with proof of student status, to any and all students for Symposium registration. To receive your special student discount code, please contact Stone Pine Consulenza. Please be sure enclose proof of student status, valid student identification card or written proof from your institution.

Early bird registration is 199€ and is open through March 31, 2023.

Regular registration is 249€ and is open from April 1 – September 30, 2023.

Late registration is 299€ and is open from October 1 – November 7, 2023.

Walk-in/ day-of (November 8 or 9, 2023) registration is 349€.

How much is registration for the 2023 Vermicomposting Symposium?

I am interested on attending with several members from my company. Is there a “group rate?”

We are happy to offer a 10% group discount rate for companies sponsoring three or more participants. For full details on how to register a group and rates, please contact Stone Pine Consulenza BEFORE you register your organization for a special coupon code to use during your online registration process.

Can I register more than one person for the Symposium?

Yes. You can register more than one person at a time by increasing the number of items in your cart. You can even purchase tickets to the Networking Social for friends and family.

Is there the option to register for only one day?

The cost for attending only one day of the symposium is outlined below and you can specify which day you would like to attend when registering.

Early bird registration is 175€ and is open through March 31, 2023.

Regular registration is 199€ and is open from April 1 – October 14, 2023.

Late registration is 224€ and is open from October 15 – November 7, 2023.

Day-of, walk-in (November 8th and 9th) registration is 249€.

Prices do not include 22% VAT.

I am bringing a (family member/guest) and they only want to come to the Networking Social or post-symposium "Worms and Wine Tour of Tuscany". How can they register and purchase tickets?

When you register, you will have the option to purchase additional tickets for the conference networking social on November 8th, and the “Worms and Wine Tour of Tuscany”. There is a possibility that additional tickets may be available at a later date, but Stone Pine Consulenza makes no guarantees regarding availability.

How can I learn more about your Covid-19 protocols?

For more information, please visit the Italian Ministry of Health.

As of June 1, 2022, there are no travel restrictions or advisories with regards to the SARS-Covid-19 virus.

The health and safety are our symposium attendees is of the utmost importance. We are closely following the recommendations from the Italian Ministry of Health (Ministero della Salute) as well as the World Health Organization and will advise all registrants of any changes in health protocol.

Please do not travel or attend the Symposium if you are not feeling well or think you have been exposed to COVID-19 or other viruses.

While we strongly encourage all participants to receive the Covid vaccination and boosters, we do NOT require proof of vaccination at this time.

At this time, we will not have any mask mandates for either speakers or attendees. All individuals attending the Vermicomposting Symposium are encouraged to take proper social distancing measures. We will have sanitizing gel and wipes available at all times.

We know that the pandemic has been difficult on everyone but want you to know that we will do our utmost to ensure that all speakers and attendees feel safe. Should you have any specific questions with regards to Covid Safety and Protocols, please contact us.

NOTE: As regulations and requirements from the Italian Health Ministry (MDS) and the World Health Organization (WHO) change, we reserve the right to alter the above as needed. Please check back regularly for the current measures.
