Meet the awardees of the Worm Gear and Stone Pine Consulenza Scholarships
Javier Rodríguez
San Pablo, Heredia, Costa Rica
I have worked for 12 years through my company (www.biofuturacr.com) in biomass management, food waste recovery and compost production, as well as regenerative agriculture, but I have not been able to specialize in vermicomposting. In Costa Rica there are only a few mid-scale companies working on vermicomposting.

Victor Romero
Jalisco, Mexico
Started in Vermicomposting in 2016. After that I joined Aldea Verde developing composting and vermicomposting projects. Actually working as advisor in developing projects. Working for Aldea Verde as a leader in Industrial Vermicomposting Development, we are dabbling all over Mexico, North and South America doing projects, I want to have the tools to develop for my clients satisfactory projects. I want to learn from the experts around the world to apply new insights into the projects I develop. This new information will help develop better and more resilient projects.

“I am immensely grateful for being selected as a scholarship recipient for the International Vermicomposting Symposium. This opportunity is invaluable to me and my business, “Lombri Corp,” as it enables us to further our commitment to sustainable agriculture and soil health.”
Adriana Del Moral
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Graduated from College or University Bachelor’s Degree in Biology Good afternoon, I am Adriana Del Moral Lic. in Biology, Teacher, Specialist in Environmental Education, degrees that were awarded to me by the National University of La Plata and the National University of Comahue. Since 2000 I approached vermiculture through workshops for children within the framework of a University program called On Vacation with the Dinosaurs.
Mabatho Hlaoli
Maseru, Lesotho
Let me first express my heartfelt gratitude for being selected as scholarship recipient to attend the upcoming international vermicompost symposium. This remarkable opportunity not only represents a significant milestone in my journey as a vermicomposting enthusiast but also underscores the invaluable support and encouragement I have received from stone pine consulenza for believing in the potential of sustainable agricultural practices.
Hamissou Yarou Tamou
Borgou, Benin
I would first like to thank the organizers of this symposium on vermicomposting. I come from a region where this theme is very little valued so it is obvious that my thirst for knowledge regarding this theme is great. first, I want to know the basics of vermicomposting, the species of worm to favor, the ingredients to use, how to maintain the vermicomposting pile. I also want to know the by-products of vermicomposting, particularly the preparation of worm tea.
Idrissa Turay
Freetown, Sierra Leone
Thanks for the opportunity granted unto me. In the International vermicomposting symposium I look forward to having more understanding about the vermicomposting system of organic matter by earthworms. Also at the end of the symposium i am looking forward to having the notes in PDF format for more reading and practice and also photos of test work
Ankit Kumar Singh
Nepalgunj, Lumbini, Nepal
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the coming international vermicomposting symposium. It will be a very fruitful program for me as an earthworm researcher. I am currently working on the biodiversity and ecology of earthworms in my PhD work at the Central Department of Zoology, Tribhuvan University Nepal.
Bahlach Abdul Qayyum
Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan
Thank you for providing me this opportunity to learn more about vermicomposting. I am honestly here to learn about the basics, waste management, what kind of waste to use, how to do this on a larger scale sustainably as I’ve mentioned where I am there is no shortage of food waste. Its a significant problem no one is talking about. Learn about how to care for the worms, what is best to feed them, what not to feed them, theres so much I can learn from this that I probably cant even think about right now.
Arnold Oricho
Nairobi, Kenya
Waste and pollution being one of the major global challenges, embracing the 3R (reduce, reuse and recycle) is worth embracing. I have knowledge on organic waste conversation by use of black soldier fly and red wrigglers. These two converts organic wastes to valuable forms forming a circular economy.
Francisca Emefa Arko
Accra, Ghana
In 2012, during my postgraduate research, I embarked on a transformative journey that would shape my passion and expertise in sustainable waste management. My thesis aimed to identify effective methods for post-treatment of waste generated in biogas plants, and it was during this endeavor that I first encountered the remarkable world of vermicomposting.
Uma Thavamani
Chennai, India
I am specialized in Microbiological techniques and most of my research activities are focused on the isolation and identification of beneficial microbes from vermicompost. I have knowledge about composting various organic substrates using earthworm and study the physiochemical properties of vermicompost that can in turn be applied to improve crop productivity.
Rock Aurel Heuriskos Adjihouede
Lokossa, Mono, Benin
I would like to attend the Virtual Symposium to have the necessary knowledge for vermicomposting, its production and its use. I think I will be selected for this scholarship because I am a trained agronomist and I do a little gardening and I am quite interested in organic farming. Already in the context where agriculture impacts the environment and also contributes to climate change, there is reason to practice ecological agriculture.
Gustavo Lafuente
La Paz, Murillo, Bolivia
It is seeing how these small animals transform organic waste into such valuable fertilizer for plants. I want to learn from other people’s knowledge and experiences, have them as mentors, to expand my knowledge of vermicomposting. I want to learn about vermicomposting techniques, sustainable practices and innovative solutions. After the Symposium, I plan to apply everything I learned to improve my worm farm, humus production and marketing.
Michael Nyame Acquah
Kumasi, Ghana
My growing interest in sanitation resource recovery led to my job position with Green Cycle Technologies as a Production and Sales Manager. My role provided me with invaluable insights into the scopes of organic waste management, composting, and vermicomposting. During my tenure, I managed the production of organic vermicompost and spearheaded efforts to align our practices with the principles of the circular economy.
