Francisco Niembro co-founded Aldea Verde in Mexico in 2005. He became CEO in 2008 and has led the design, training, and installation of over 50 industrial composting and vermicomposting facilities, most of them in Mexico, and some others in Central and South America, El Caribe, and United States.
Most of these facilities have been developed for agricultural clients, but some others are Hotels, Municipalities, Neighborhoods, and other industries.
At Aldea Verde´s own site, he helped increase 50% productivity and 70% earthworm reproduction by reorganizing their vermicomposting processes.
He collaborated with Mexico’s national environmental agency (SEMARNAT) to create the national composting and vermicomposting standards and has being speaker at many forums and seminars in Mexico and other countries. Aldea Verde has accomplished 69 “Introduction to Vermiculture” workshops where they’ve shared the basic needs to start a vermicomposting project with over 1,650 attendees.
At this moment Aldea Verde is working on developing 7 new composting and vermicomposting facilities, four in Mexico, one in Ecuador, one in Ireland and one in United States.
Aldea Verde believes that engaging people is the most powerful and efficient tool to stop contamination, restore our soils and protect our mother earth, so we can leave a better place for our children.
