In 2013, Marco Calcaprina, together with his two partners, started Centro Lombricoltura Toscano (CLT) vermicomposting plant in the municipality of San Giuliano Terme, Pisa. They found in earthworm farming and the many aspects connected to it, a way to combine work with a passion for the environment and at the same time a technique to produce a high quality natural fertilizer.
Over the years, Marco and his team have honed their vermicomposting experience through diligent discussions with technicians and agricultural companies. These conversations have led the company to develop a range products whose application have proved important as an effective response to the demands of modern agriculture.
The activity of the Tuscan Lombriculture Center is always constantly growing, experimenting and developing the various sectors of its activity with attention and passion. These activities include production of high quality humus for commercial use, consulting on vermicomposting systems, partnering with both public and private research centers, mentoring students and educating on the topic where human health meets the environment by promoting a so-called “recycling society”.
