The outpouring of interest and support for this first ever International Vermicomposting Symposium has been overwhelming. We have in-person registrants from 18 different countries, scholarship applicants from over 20 countries. To say that this is truly an international event is an understatement. One mission of Stone Pine Consulenza is to facilitate and share knowledge about organic and sustainable agriculture techniques that will help leave a greener legacy for the future.
Thanks to some modern technology, we are able to offer not just an in-person event, but an event that can be broadcast across the world. This option is a lifeline for those that are unable to travel and attend for one reason or another, but also those who are financially unstable and whom would not have access to this information any other way.
Although the Symposium will take place in English, through Zoom’s cutting-edge technology users will have the option to have it subtitled into one of 28 different languages. The translated captions will automatically appear in real-time as written subtitles on the screen. For example, if the speaker is speaking English in a meeting, captions can be made available in Spanish, Chinese, Ukrainian, and more.
Available caption languages are determined by the host in web settings before the live session, but participants can freely enable captions and select the language they want to use for translation without the need of the host.
